Computer Recycling For Education launches Electronics Waste (e-waste) Education Campaign in Celebration of Earth Day
SACRAMENTO, CA (ContentDesk) April 21, 2004 -? Computer Recycling For Education today launched a national consumer education campaign to promote the proper disposal of unwanted and obsolete electronics in the home, business and government. The campaign features a cartoon elephant called Ewaste Eddie (TM) that proclaims, "Remember to Ecycle-it" (TM)."Consumers should practice proper disposal of computer monitors, computers, televisions, cell phones, video games, DVDs, VCRs and audio equipment when their electronics becomes unwanted or obsolete." said President Al Chaney. "Practicing proper disposal of an electronics item is the best way to ensure that harmful chemicals contained in electronics are not released into the environment through illegal disposal".
Most people think they can just throw a computer monitor or television in the trash when they are finished using it. Many states have banned the disposal computer monitors and televisions from landfills.
Computer monitors and televisions contain heavy metals such as lead, cadmium and beryllium. Improper disposal of electronics can cause these chemicals to leach into the environment, which are harmful to humans and animals.
The new public education campaign includes a public service announcement and informational materials for consumers, retailers, educators, recyclers, solid waste professionals and municipalities.Information about the campaign is available on the website at: www.computerecycleforeduc.comemail:e-mail protected from spam bots916-354-3833 (voice) Contact: Al Chaney.

And this car club is offering a fine ride for those interested in fine automobiles. And when talking about fine vehicles, it means that these are often those that are considered as exotic cars and are quite hard to own for it means you would have to spend a huge amount just to own one. And it does not mean just any car that could hold Mercury auto parts and the like. Wolters is simply referring to those vehicles that are quite on the high end. These include luxury cars, and classic...

Plasma Televisions
Now a status symbol among the rich and wealthy, a plasma TV is a high-definition (HDTV) alternative to the standard cathode-ray televisions sold today. It gives viewers sharp images and vibrant colors, particularly when used in conjunction with high-definition broadcasts. A quality plasma TV, however, does not come cheap. Its price ranges from $4,000 to $15,000 plus.
One of the main attractions of a plasma TV is a flat screen, which can be mounted directly on a wall. Manufacturers often employ surround-sound theater speakers and high-end receivers to complete the feeling of luxury.
No wonder plasma TVs are such a craze these days.
In terms of science, 'plasma' refers to inert gases like neon and xenon that glow when in contact with an electrical field. Televisions usually rely on thousands of small 'picture elements', abbreviated as pixels. A bundle of three distinct colors, usually red, green and yellow, constitute one pixel in a color TV. Properly...

Social Engineering - The Real E-Terrorism?
One evening, during the graveyard shift, an AOL technical support operator took a call from a hacker. During the hour long conversation the hacker mentioned he had a car for sale. The technical support operator expressed an interest so the hacker sent him an e-mail with a photo of the car attached. When the operator opened the attachment it created a back door that opened a connection out of AOL's network, through the firewall, allowing the hacker full access to the entire internal network of...

Sequin Purses

What first began as simple pouches made of hide, soon developed into status symbols, adorned with lavish embroidery and precious stones. The earliest purses were simple animal skin pouches that were used during religious ceremonies by the Egyptians and Babylonians. In course of time, they evolved into the expensive designer bags made by fashion houses, that we see today. Although the functionality factor is important, of recent,...
